I did get one successful install of Mate. I went ahead and
installed it to a 16 gig flashdrive. Then I went ahead and
tried the update and the same thing. I did get messages
that stated several files were broken. After a restart the
same problem showed up. I think I'll stay with the KDE
version since it seems stable and doesn't seem to have
the same problem.

Hi jacque,I went ahead and gave it a try lastnight several times. Removed Grub2
and ran Gparted on the drive with just 2 partitions, 20 gig sda1 and
a 8 gig for linux swap. No other OS on the system. The program runs
good Live and right now I'm running it in memory with no problems.
The problem arises when I do the update. I have installed it about
7 times and flushed the system each time. I used the USA server for
updates 6 times and the last time it took forever for the update
using the Australian server. Still on the last AU server, the same
thing again. It has to be the kernel since the I am getting flagged
with the user logon screen, all white in text mode with the msgbox
asking for a password with the top of the msgbox text saying,
"MakuluLinux XFCE 4.3." when it's suppose to be Mate.

This is really weird, the Makulu KDE runs great on the other HDD
and the problem with Mate I want to find out what's going on with
it to resolve the issue. I'll keep you posted what's going on.
The problem isn't associated with the the drives since I have tried
two different drives, HDD and now on the SSD. It's a real strange
one so I'll keepI haven't checked the "No Update" tick to see if
the problem still persists? I am going to try some other things and
will let you know if I have any success.

Hi, I'm back. LOL. I tried about everything I could think of on the Mate post update install and the same problem? After the install and restart the post install starts and everything goes good with no problems until you restart the machine. You then get the error on the image file and from there it show a msgbox that asks for a logon (screen white and text only). Above the msgbox the text, "MakuluLinux XFCE 4.3". It looks like Mate doesn't like this machine! LOL. Well, the KDE version is plenty fancy to run and it doesn't mind it. I might add, I downloaded the second Mate version from the system server and the checksum was ok on it. Ne interesting to find out what's going on. I'm wondering if anyone else has had the same problem? Interesting!

yes it's real strange! I have never seen any Distro do that.
The checksum is ok and I got the iso file off of the Sourceforge server. I'm about ready to pull one from your server and try it. It just acts like the update files are being redirected? As long as I don't respond to the update the program works and as soon as I update and reboot then come back on it it's trashed? I'm going to try pulling the iso from the main server instead of SourceForge. Let you know what happens.

Hey boss, you mind if I delete the Cinnamon & GNOME 3 forums since they can't be hidden?
