I just did a fresh install and during the install set a password ( 1 ) ie the Number One.
Thats ok and the install went through ok.
Now when I try to install updates it asks me for a password and I Tried ( 1 ) No luck.
Then I tried the Default p/w ( makulu ), No Luck.
Any help would appreciated

make sure your numlock or capslock is not turned on while setting passwords. also check that if you set your keyboard to a non international standard that it is still set as such.
