Hi,
After a couple of hours of configuring the original after installation Makulu Shift, I decided to try the other available desktops. When I tried to return to the original desktop which I spent a considerable time configuring it, it was gone, it was impossible to get it back. I tried all the available desktop environments of Makulu Shift, none of them was the one I had been working, then I tried to use the four option at login screen – Gnome, Gnome Classic and Gnome X11 (it appeared twice). Gone forever my hard worked desktop. So it was gone Makulu Linux as I deleted the virtual machine where I had installed it. Not acceptable guys.
I bought a computer just to try and test the dozens of linux distros available, using both VMWare Workstation Player and Oracle VirtualBox, which one works better with a distro. I am afraid Makulu Linux failed.

Each desktop has an option to save
you go into desktop manager settings and hit the update layout.
it saves all the settings that can be saved on gnome. panels, docks, icon layouts, extensions and extension settings, wallpapers etc etc … all get saved! -

If you decide to try it again, consider backing up your configuration files or creating snapshots in your virtual machine. This way, you can restore your setup if anything goes wrong. Good luck with your Linux journey!

Both VMware Workstation Player and Oracle VirtualBox allow you to take snapshots of your virtual machines. This lets you revert to a previous state if something goes wrong.

Access the desktop manager settings and select the update layout option.
It preserves all configurable settings within GNOME. Panels, docks, icon arrangements, extensions and their configurations, wallpapers, etc.
Everyone will be preserved!
